Summer 2010 Exhibition : Cig Harvey & Steven Ford

August 3, 2010

JAGR Project’s second exhibition featuring works by photographer, Cig Harvey, and prints by Steven Ford is now on view.

Hope Chest : Photographs by Cig Harvey

July 15, 2010 – October 15, 2010

The Hope Chest  is a selection of photographs from a visual autobiography populated by the photographer’s central relationships over the course of more than a decade. Through quietly stately, gorgeously colored and richly allusive photographs, Cig transforms quotidian objects that reference time, childhood, and femininity into totems that record key moments in her life. As much a document of one woman’s emotional life as it is a catalog of psychological archetypes. The Hope Chest takes the viewer on a literal and metaphorical journey conveying the universal quest for personal identity and place in the world.

Construction : New Work by Steven Ford

July 15, 2010 – October 15, 2010

Inspired by Nature and fascinated by how things fit together mechanically, Ford has created fully integrated collage prints with the textural strength and delicate structure of his award-winning jewelery.

Michael Gruber of JAGR : Projects has designed the interiors for several Marc Vetri’s Restaurants in Philadelphia.  Vetri won the 2005 James Beard Award for ‘Best Chef Mid-Atlantic’ and was named one of Food & Wine’s Ten Best New Chefs.   Marc Vetri’s new Trattoria, Amis, has been the subject of several recent articles– but not for its exquisite cuisine.   It’s Michael’s fabulous interior that is gaining recognition!

Great Good Places, Metropolis Magazine : Metropolis Magazine has named Amis Trattoria as one of the ‘Great Good Places’ to eat in America. An interview with Michael Gruber and photographs of the restaurant’s interior are featured in the magazine’s July Issue.

A Look Inside Amis : A local Philadelphia blog reviews Vetri’s restaurant and showcases a slideshow of the trattoria’s interior.

Record Pictures : Photographs by Michael Collins was  JAGR : Projects’ Inaugural Exhibition and was shown from February through June.  Created from 8×10 photographic negatives, Michael Collins’ monumental 4×5 foot prints yield a shockingly sharp richness of detail, chronicling historically significant landscapes around London.
